Each project is unique - whether a website, a book cover, a logo or whatever else - and so the price is entirely dependent on the nature and the complexity of the commission. As a rule I work up to a standard, not down to a price, and so if budget is pretty much your only concern then I’m probably not the right designer for you.
The way I work is to have an initial discussion to find out what you are looking for, and to see if I’m the right person to help you. If it feels right for both of us, then I will work with you to define your exact requirements. For example, if we are discussing a website, we will look at:
- Your existing marketing materials and brand image.
- What specifically you are aiming to achieve with the website and how will measure the ‘success’ over time.
- What type and amount of content you have - for example do you have your own images or will you need me to supply them, and how much ‘crafting’ will your written content need to make it suitable for web copy (in terms of being both user and search engine friendly).
- Whether you want to build a customer list by, for example, having some information on your site that visitors can download in return for supplying their e-mail address.
- Do you need an e-commerce function, or maybe you would like to be able to modify or update your site using a Content Management System.
- Your timescale for completion.
Once I have gathered this and all the other required information, I will give you a written, no-obligation proposal, indicating both costs and timescales.
If all that sounds like a comfortable way of working to you, then give me a call on 07970 415398 or 0800 2983029 and let’s talk.
